Ghosted – Who Did Wrong? (Kinda long!)

Here’s a story to entertain you guys and I’d like some feedback/advice at the end. Please be nice in the comments, no one needs to hate on one another or be cruel.

This guy and I matched on Bumble and we immediately hit it off. Conversation was going well, his energy and my energy were matching, if I didn’t respond to a text, he would send me another which I was very grateful for and kept the conversation going. We set up a meeting date for memorial day weekend and he’d actually traveled around 2 hours to come see me, got a hotel and everything. Originally, our plans were go spend some time outside but we ended up spending our first meeting in his hotel room. We had a lot of fun, clicked, drank, talked, ate, and it was honestly a very amazing night.

He immediately made plans to see me again that following weekend (right after we said goodbye) and this time, I agreed to go to his area. Our texting continued for another week and most it was flirting/sexting. This guy got a hotel for us to spend the weekend and I was taken back with how much he was actually making the effort to make it a good weekend.

(I don’t know if this is relevant but) The night before the weekend, I was on bumble and decided to snooze my account. I meant to click “indefinite” but I accidentally clicked “24 hours” and that I was traveling. The next morning, I wanted to change it so I unsnoozed totally not realizing that (surprise!) Bumble notifies every single one of your matches when you’re back. I was mortified when a match messaged me where I was going. This meant that the guy I was supposed to spend the weekend with had seen it too.

He didn’t send me a good morning text that morning (for the first time since we matched) and I decided not to think much (maybe he was busy at work). It’s not like we were exclusive after all. We spent a good weekend together and what was supposed to be one night turned into two. By the end of the weekend, we were both kinda drained out and I went back home and didn’t hear from him the rest of the day. Understandable, but a, “Did you get home?” text would’ve been nice. But he was active on social media and I saw that he was also updating his Bumble profile.

I woke up to a good morning text from him the next morning but found that the conversation had dried out. I was making more of an effort to keep the conversation up but it felt forced on both his and my part so I decided to leave him on read. He messaged me again that night, the conversation was short, and he didn’t respond to my last few messages until afternoon the next day. The conversation that day was also kinda dry but more than anything, it was more dry sexting than anything. I again, left him on read because his last response wasn’t worth responding to. I didn’t hear from him much the next day until evening when he sent me a meme (of something sexual) telling me that it reminded him of me and again, very light sexting that went back and forth.

His last response was something that I felt didn’t really need responding to (I guess now that some time has passed, I realize I could’ve asked how his day had been) but I guess the difference in energy and text frequency over the past couple days kinda turned me off. That night, I couldn’t sleep and decided to send him another sext around 2am (risky and stupid, I know). I woke up the next morning to see that he had actually read and ignored my message.

It’s been over a week since I’ve last heard from him and I haven’t hit him up once after. I realize I’ve been ghosted and I’m not trying to message him or get an explanation out of him, but it was a bruise to my ego to see a sext go ignored.

We both weren’t looking to get into a relationship or anything and I knew this guy wasn’t someone I can be serious with because he had a lot of red flags but I guess I was a bit disappointed that things ended so abruptly. I’ve had a lot on my mind since then, like “Did I come off too easy?” “Did I make it seem like I didn’t care enough?” “Did I do something wrong?” “Asshole.” (Lots of thoughts😂)

So based on the story, what do you guys think went wrong here? What would you do if you were in my position?
