We met each other last year through mutual friends. My best friend is in a relationship with his best friend. Everything was going so well, we’ve been talking every single day throughout lockdown.
We were talking before but he was still hung up on his ex as they’d only just split. They’ve been split for 6 months now. He really opened up to me about his past relationship and his feelings and how he wants to ‘make things up to me’ he told me how after his last relationship he didn’t think he could be with anyone else but I’ve changed his mind and how he sees a future for us.
He will talk about the adventures we could have in the future, staying at his, going on holidays etc. He’s only recently went back to work but was pretty secretive about telling me he was going back. Ever since, he’s barely spoken to me and I understand that if he’s working, he’s working and he said he had ran out of internet data. But he hasn’t been sending me any messages at all until 4/5pm the past few days.
So today he only messaged me ‘guess who has data’ and kept going on about himself. I said to him ‘thought you might have sent me a good morning text’ – as he said he’d message me. He just replied ‘sorry’ and I just feel like his whole demeanour has changed other than being busy, he completely disregarded how that made me feel that he couldn’t even send a quick message in the morning and he said ‘I left for work about 7:45am so no I didn’t have time to message you’
Also, I told him I was upset about my gran being ill and he said ‘go get some sleep’ as if I was bothering him.
Ever since, he hasn’t bothered talking to me. Usually we can talk through things that are bugging one another and fix it but he’s constantly sitting on social media and won’t talk to me and now I don’t even know if there’s a future for us or if he will even meet up on Sunday.
The weird thing is that he ignored his own best friend when he messaged him asking how he’s been and how work is which makes me think it may not be something I’ve done. But I’ve got a gut feeling that he’s lost interest or is talking to other girls as he’s constantly sitting online so if it’s a family crisis or something he wouldn’t be sitting online?
TL:DR I’m completely devastated, he made me extremely happy but now he’s ignoring my message and won’t talk to me after I said I feel like I always make more effort. Where do I go from here?
