A girl (28F) that I (32M) went on a few dates with at the beginning of 2020 invited me over to her place tonight. I’m still trying to figure out what just happened.

At the very end of 2019 I slid into this girl's Insta DMs and set up a date with her for the first week of 2020. It's important to note that this is literally how we know each other. We never had a friendship or even met each other before this. We've only ever gone on dates with each other.

We dated for about 1.5 months and hooked up a few times. She eventually started to withdraw/cancel plans/etc. I specifically remember her telling me that her cat was just diagnosed with a bad disease and that was why she needed time and space (she really did love that goddamn cat). After a few cancellations I stopped initiating with her.

She's messaged me a few times since then, during quarantine. Mostly just "hey how are you's" and memes.

Last weekend she DM'd me that she missed me and that we should get together soon. I thought this seemed like a positive sign she might be into giving it another shot.

I agreed and we made a plan for me to come drink wine at her place tonight (Saturday). She was wearing a nice dress, full face of makeup, etc. It felt very quarantine date-y.

But within 5 minutes of me arriving, she just happened to casually mention that she has a boyfriend now.

I was confused by this move and pumped the brakes on any sort of escalation. It was really weird but I thought I would at least hang out, drink wine, and watch Netflix with her for a few hours. Maybe she was trying to be friends?

After a few hours, with no warning at all, the front door opens up and a guy (her boyfriend) walks in. She jumps off the couch and runs over to kiss him while I'm sitting there staring at them awkwardly.

He seemed really cool. Cooler than I might have been if I were in his situation. I felt like an asshole at this point, being at his GFs house at midnight on a Saturday night. After a few minutes of chatting I said my goodbyes and left.

What the hell was that? Shouldn't she have told me about this ahead of time? We really had no prior friendship before the dates we went on this year. Am I wrong for thinking this is weird and kind of rude on her part?
