Idk if this is appropriate for here since we haven’t dated but here it is.
I went to a high school with like 5000 people in it so it’s obviously difficult to know everyone. Senior year prom a buddy asked this girl none of us had ever met. However, by the end of the dance we had both ditched our respective dates and did the classic awkward senior prom slow dance lol. But the whole weekend we really bonded because she was roasting some people in my friend group who I was kinda eh on and it was hilarious.
Prom ended and we graduated not really talking. Over summer saw some meme on twitter relating to some prom inside joke and I tagged her in it. She found it funny so I kept tagging her in stuff to be annoying in kinda a flirty way (idk I’m a guy idk how to be cute)? We started doing it back and forth and she was like if we’re gonna keep doing this here’s my number.
We went to college. Talking very consistently, if not daily, we talked most days. Random life, transition to college stuff, etc. We’re out of college and this has continued since then. We’ve been there for each other at rough times.
I’ve dated people and she’s dated people. This is just me stipulating but if we had gone to the same school something probably would have happened. I had a lotta issues in college so I didn’t really have anything serious. She had two bfs. One she actually broke up with because the guy was jealous of our relationship. The other she’s dated for about a year and has stated that if she didn’t date him, she’d lose all her friends. So not sure if it’s gonna continue past college, especially since they’re moving to opposite coasts.
I guess where we’re at now is that we’ve both graduated and in the same city at our parents. I’d like to see her ofc but she’s still very much under her parents thumb, especially now with COVID. Her brothers almost 30 living at home and he couldn’t even go out with friends for New Years so idk what the family dynamic is.
This is all rambling but my point is that I wanna see her and hope to maybe take her out one day but I don’t wanna be creepy, misread signs, and lose our five-year friendship. I have ASD so that’s not a strong suit. She’s says I’m cute, said she loves me, doesn’t know what she’d do without me, etc. Obviously sounds like “friend” things. I wouldn’t call it a fixation; I’m attracted to others, but I can’t say I wasn’t wishing things for different as I sit here lonely in quarantine.
