A little background: I'm a fit, muscular, pretty good looking, educated and career-accomplished guy in his mid-30s who also has yet to lose his virginity. I've never really had the opportunity since I wanted to do so within he context of it being with someone I was dating or in a relationship with, but I also didn't really take dating seriously until I got to 30 because I was focusing on my career and moved back and forth a bit, while also living in areas that didn't have the greatest social/dating scenes for anyone beyond 25.
I've been using dating apps for the most part to potentially meet someone new, but as we all know, just because you can get matches doesn't mean you can get much further than that. Being a virgin at my age was not the plan, and I do get bent out of shape about the lack of luck I'm having, but also don't want to compromise my self-worth or look desperate.
The other day, I matched with a woman from the app who ended up being a married "hotwife", though, and I opened up to her about my lack of experience. She finds me attractive and even more so that I'm a virgin, and wants to have sex with me. She's otherwise very nice and attractive, but it's not like the situation would lead to a relationship. A lot of guys would probably jump at this, but it's an unusual scenario to find myself in. I don't know what the longer term emotional ramifications would be on me, or what a future partner might think if I ever told them.
I'm caught in a weird place where I both wish that I could meet someone who genuinely wanted to date me and the rest would happen naturally, but also frustrated and know I'm far behind in terms of experience, and with the way modern dating is, this may be the only shot I have. Like, is this really the most I can get? Most single women on dating apps just end up ghosting before you can even ask them out on a date…
Advice? I'm especially wondering what women think, because I already know what most men will say…
