This chick (24f) and I (28m) have been hanging out pretty much every day for a couple months now, we’ve hit all the bases and have recently become roommates (with 2 other people), have separate rooms, but sleep together nightly. I know she’s still healing a bit from a her most recent relationship which was pretty toxic. We started hanging out in the midst of that breakup, but we were just coworkers and hardly even friends until recently.
She has told a couple of our friends that she has serious feelings for me, but has never been direct with me about it. She drunkenly told me she loved me a couple of times the other night, which obviously made me happy but wasn’t taken to heart. Multiple people have said that we’re a cute couple, but according to her we’re just homies and I obviously know that. She has mentioned putting a pause on dating for a while because of some bad experiences and I totally understand why.
It sucks because I’m head over heels and honestly haven’t felt this way in years. A bit of me wants to ride this FWB wave because of how refreshing it has been after a lengthy, toxic relationship of my own. At the end of the day though, most of me wants to make things more ‘official’ with her.
I guess I’m just looking for some advice on where to go from here. I’m approaching this from a history of longer relationships and zero 1 night stands. I try to be as compassionate, thoughtful, and sensual as possible without being pushy or overbearing. It looks and feels like an actual relationship but it isn’t.
I truly care about this person and don’t want the WB in FWB to ruin the F part.
I don’t want her to feel any pressure, but also don’t want the feelings we have developed for each other to fade in the midst of her hiatus from dating. I’m just wondering what you guys have done in a situation like this, thanks!
