Am lonely need advice

I’m 19 years old and waiting to start Uni but one thing I really nervous about is that I’d never had a gf and also the fact that due to covid less foreigners are gonna go to university and more people from the country I live in(I don’t get one with people from that country and wouldn’t wanna date anyone from that country) so my prospects have been slashed a lot and it doesn’t help the fact that am below average looking and according to some of my friends am really self deprecating/have no self confidence/no self esteem and they claim it’s that’s not good also I get really nervous and awkward when talking to a girl (and I don’t really know what to say)I like so I just come off as weird
