Anyone else feel like the pandemic messed up their dating life?

After being pretty much outside the dating scene for a few years, I (27M) felt that I had finally gotten my act together, regained my confidence, had a pretty good idea of what I was and wasn't looking for in a partner, and was able to start dating regularly again at the beginning of 2020. I went on several dates with different women, had one near-miss that almost turned into a relationship (but failed, probably because both parties were relatively inexperienced and awkward, oh well), and had several other girls I was getting along well with who I was about to ask out, particularly the girl at the local pool. But then the pandemic hit and it was over. I actually remember seeing her a few days before the lockdown was declared, everything was going well, the conversation turned a bit flirtatious and I was going to take my chances and ask for her number but decided to play it safe and wait until next time, and that's when the lockdown came into effect. I'm not too bummed out about it given that I'm not sure how dating would even look in the time of a pandemic with everything shut down, social distancing and all, but I do feel that the progress I've made has been derailed to some extent by factors out of my control. I know some people have turned to Tinder and online dating, but I'm not really after hookups or anything casual and the idea of going on "virtual Zoom dates" just doesn't appeal to me. Luckily, the lockdown's been over for a while now and I'm thinking of checking back at the swimming pool soon, but I don't know if she'll still be working there and if it will be the same, with such a long break from any contact. Does anyone else feel like COVID has really messed up their dating life in a similar fashion, almost as if it were something meant to get in the way of their success?
