Idk. Maybe because I have no incentive to sleep with anyone and take on all the possible consequences such as pregnancy, std, discomfort, nor the side affects of birth control on my body. Maybe because men who did see me in a sexual matter 99.9 of the time saw me as nothing else but a sexual object. My feelings, interests, voice did not matter only their sexual desires, even when I was struggling with depression and fantasized about killing myself. I was still expected to perform for them sexually.
Maybe its because I am tired of having racism denied by men who are 99.9 not even black and nor a woman, but think they can tell me what MY experience is. They think its ok to call me the n word when I refuse their sexual advances or even just use it casually because they fuck everyone else. Racism is not a thing they say while throwing a racial slur at you one you said you did not appreciate them using. Oh the irony.
Maybe its because no does not seem to be no or yes. Men feel they.must make a move, not stopping to ask themselves hmm maybe she doesn’t want to be touched. Maybe just maybe I should ask her if she would like to be touched here or there. And maybe just maybe instead of wasting her time thinking im actually interested in her as a person, and not a potential hole for me to get my.dick wet in, I should be honest, admit I only value her sexually so I don’t waste her time and just cause myself trouble when she lashes out at my clumsy, rude, and cowardly response that she must be a virgin and I don’t do virgins, but I am not interested in hook up when she declines to come to my house for a “haircut.”
So let’s see. Given the risks to my health, peace of mind as well as the selfish nature of so many men that were attracted to me, and how they are so blinded by lust they cannot see my humanity, being a virgin is best. Sex, its lead up and aftermath is one less traumatic memory to have and to struggle to recover from for many years to come.
Edit: Some comments of men are case in point of the lack of ability of the men i talk about to reflect upon their attitudes, their actions and consider anyone’s feelings but their own. Im always called a feminist when i refuse to be sexually objectified and trampled over by men.
