I’m 22 and never been in a relationship before nor been intimate with any girl sadly. I’ve always been pretty shy around girls which sort of comes from me being raised in a country with a repressive environment where men and women are not supposed to closely interact with each other (unless they’re family)and we even had gender segregated places such as different schools for boys and girls. I won’t specifically say where but yes it is a Muslim country and people over there believe in arrange marriages where you mostly dont even get to know your future partner until after you marry them. When I moved to a western country later in my teens that mentality was still stuck with me so I never bothered to date in high school or in beginning of college but now nearing an age when muslims usually get married I’ve decided I want to marry someone I love not just get into an arranged marriage with someone I may regret later. I wanted to try dating but always been afraid to since I’ve had 0 experience with girls and am always shy or awkward around them which usually turns them off and I’ve also realized that being a virgin at this age is a pretty embarrassing thing here so I’m not sure if girls around my age would even find me desirable. How can someone like me get into dating so I can find someone I love? I’ve already taken some steps such as going to gym or talking to few girls online (which I never liked since dating apps suck and I mostly end up ghosted or ignored) but haven’t had much success. It saddens me alot seeing kids as young as 14 being in relationships (even if it is temporary) but me still never having experienced that. I’d appreciate any advice you all have to give especially from experienced guys.
