I was chatting with a girl for several months in an app and this was our only platform to communicate. She is a STEM student at a top university and had a lot of stress at university. At the beginning, we were basically texting each day. The last weeks, I noticed a slow fade from her side… or at least I thought. Actually, she apologized many times for texting back late. The last two weeks, I thought she ghosted me because she didn’t text back anymore for a week. I sent her a message asking if everything is alright but didn’t get an answer. So 1 week ago, I called her out ghosting me. Not in a bad way (or at least I thought, it was not in a bad way), just saying I didn’t expect that from her because I actually thought she was a decent person and that I was disappointed. I also apologized in that message saying that I’m sorry if I stressed her out or anything like that.
Well, today she reached back to me saying that someone in her family died and she can’t do that anymore. She deleted the app, the only platform where we communicated. I don’t even know what to do anymore. I felt shit before thinking I got ghosted. I feel now even worse for me and for her. Now I think, it was a huge mistake calling her out ghosting me.
I don’t even know why I write this here. Maybe I’m looking for advice, maybe I’m just sad and typing everything out. I don’t know. I’m very sorry and I hope, other people won’t make the same mistake as I did because there could always be a small chance that something very bad happened. I just wish that I had a chance to apologize to her directly but that isn’t possible anymore. 🙁
