I was in a group project with her in our last class before graduation. Outside of a few assignments, I barely knew her. There were some small hints that she might have liked me (2-3 second glances and being extra nice to me sometimes). I randomly texted her, “Hey, what have you been up to after graduation” and she went with the flow and was very talkative with lots of exclamation marks and questions after half of her messages. I still wasn’t sure whether she liked me or not and I didn’t want to come off as a creep, so I just told her that “It was nice talking to you, good luck with your future endeavors!”She didn’t even reply.
Two weeks later, I became curious, I wondered if she was mad I just gave my farewell. I could’ve asked her out at that time, but I felt too embarrassed to do all this via text. So I texted her to see how she was doing, then she double texted me because I was too busy. She texted me that she’s been busy and asked me how I’ve been. But when I ask her about what she’s been up to other than applying for jobs, she tells me that “She’s been doing everything she possibly can to stay as busy as possible”. I’m not sure if this is a soft rejection or an ego thing. Because when she asked me what I’ve been up to, I gave an in-depth answer that made me seem very accomplished.
I also saw in her social media that if she doesn’t find a job, she’d have to move back to her home city, so she seems to have been busy, but she still gave me a dead-end response, so should I just give up?
