How do I (29M) prepare myself for getting back into dating in a motivated way?

I’m trying to find a way to feel encouraged and motivated to start dating again for when the quarantine will be lifted so that I can feel prepared and see the joys of dating instead of the downsides. An abundance mindset instead of a scarcity mindset.

End of January, the girl I was dating with broke it off with me, to much surprise (and disappointment) of myself. We spoke again 2 weeks ago but it left me with a sour taste. I’m good with the outcome, seeing that we’ve parted separate ways, but the ‘how’ and ‘why’ left me in a bit of a downer.

As such, I don’t want to delve into all the dating apps again yet. I decided that I don’t want to waste anymore time and go for someone who I think should be worth it. I’m listening to a podcast (Help Me Be Me) about dating, browsing a lot of topics on r/dating_advice, r/datingoverthirty, and r/relationshipadvice and imagine how I would handle the situation. I’m talking things through with my therapist, who has been with me for almost a year. I want to delve more deeper in to my patterns and attachment issues. I decided that I want to take dating more seriously, for the next coming years. Not more of it, but more qualitatively well, in a sort of way.

I want to feel motivated and encouraged to go out there again and see all the wonderful girls and ladies that I can share experiences with instead of feeling held back by past experiences. Last week, I decided that dating myself would be my top priority. It includes consuming good things (less news, better food overall) , keeping a clean apartment and taking care of my plants, making a possible ideal future with a Future Authoring program and my passion planner, taking courses, and exercising every day (yoga/walking/biking/weightlifting).

Basically: I want to become a better person and know better what I want in a long-term partner. I’m looking forward to that part, but I tend to get discouraged quite easily when it comes to dating. Sifting through the rocks and pebbles to find that gold, and something that I can definitely improve on, keeping the gold. Or better yet: to be confident enough that even if the gold goes away, I can still remain with my happiness and confidence.

Thank you for reading and every possible bit of advice you could give me.
