I (f 22) recently broke up with my bf (25) of 1.5 years. I know it’s not a super long relationship, but it was my first relationship and his longest and most serious. When we started dating I had the mindset immediately that I am serious and am only with him to find in him a life partner. However, since breaking up I feel like I have my life back and am really hurdling towards life goals I would have had to sacrifice to be with him. But It makes me sad that I’ve lost the emotional and physical intimacy that I had. Given the specific goals that I have, to travel and work as a digital nomad (working online and traveling abroad) I know that having any long term relationship will be hard and tbh too distracting from the other things I want from life. I never thought I’d be a casual dater because my mindset was that I can only date to find a partner and I get wayyyyy too emotionally invested and attached to people to be able date casually. But I’ve never tried. How do I get to a place where I don’t emotionally invest so much and change my mindset about what dating is or can be?
