Hello everyone, I have found some of the advice on this sub very interesting and finally had the courage to talk about my case.
So this story has been unfolding for a few months now. For context, I’m 22M and study at university. I found a girl from a class really attractive, but wanted to wait to do anything until later in the semester in case things went south, I would have less awkward time with her on class. All of the sudden Covid hit and with the quarantine and everything lost hope to even make a move. All of the sudden, I got an email from her in the middle of the lockdown to ask for help in the class. We exchanged numbers afterwards and began texting. I must say that we had barely spoken with each other before, so it really came as a surprise.
So the texting began and it was good. We progressed quickly from the class topics to talk about other various topics. We have been maintain a solid conversation for around two months. She seems engaged in the conversation, laughs at my jokes, etc. What strikes me the most is that, overall, she didn’t really needed my help with the topic since it never came to the convo no matter how I suggested it. I know most people might suggest to ask her out, but given the Corona situation, it’s still too early to do that in my country.
Nevertheless, we have arranged a video call soon. It was actually quite weird. Since I felt quite awkward to ask directly, I suggested it when we were talking about one of my favorite hobbies and she asked to learn a bit more. I didn’t really expect her to like this hobby so it was surprising.
Anyway, I was hoping I can get some opinions. Do I have a chance to escalate things to something more than a friendship? Am I seeing thing that are not there? How does the timeframe look like for any next moves?
Thanks in advance!
Tldr: An attractive girl from a class asks for my help, we start texting and have a nice conversation that went beyond the class, actually barely discussing why she approached me at first.
