So I (25M) met this girl (27F) over two years ago on a festival we were both working. We immediatly liked each other and kissed on the dancefloor on one of the party’s of the festival. We stayed in touched, had a few dates and slept together. Then, quite unexpectingly, she sent me a message that she doesn’t think this was gonna work.
Two years later, last february, we were both working on the same event again. We saw each other on the dancefloor again and talked a lot and eventually kissed again. We started dating again which has been a lot of fun.
After a few dates (and a long time without dates because of Covid) I asked her why we stopped dating two years ago. She said she finds dating really hard and gets quite nervous while dating. She never had a relationship, even though she wanted to, because of this. She said she finds it hard to open up to someone and to feel comfortable with someone. All the friends she has, she knows for over 10 years. Also, she thinks our conversations are quite generic and wished we had more deep conversations to get to know each other better.
I was very open with her and told her that I usually date with the aim to start a relationship. She said a couple of times that she didn’t want to waste my time but honestly I just feel like I want to help somehow. We talked on the phone about it today and she offered to meet at her place soon for dinner and to talk about it more. I guess I want her to open up to me but don’t want to force anything. I still really like this girl but I have no idea what to do. Is there something I can do or say to make it easier for her?
