hey everyone, i was hoping to get some insight on this…i’m not the best at dating so i’d really appreciate it and i’ll try to keep the post short.

i’m in college and i’ve been talking to this guy for a couple months. due to circumstances we weren’t able to meet so we were constantly texting. now that things have changed and we are able to meet, he keeps bringing it up casually but never makes concrete plans.

now normally this is where i’d think yea he’s not interested and probably just keeping me around to boost his ego (which still could very well be the case) but the thing that’s tripping me up is that he still CONSTANTLY texts me. and it’s not silly things, it’s like we have actual conversations and as if he genuinely enjoys talking to me, which i am not used to. sometimes we flirt but when we do, after a bit he’ll always change the subject out of nowhere and start a new conversation with me…. until we get to another point where it’s back and forth flirting UNTIL he changes the subject abruptly again and starts another conversation.

if he was uncomfortable/uninterested in my advances i dont understand why he would willingly keep coming back for conversations? because i’m not starting them at all…i have serious trust issues so it takes a lot for me to go up to a guy and say “hey i like you, let’s meet” and these mixed signals have really been throwing me off…..i don’t know if he actually likes me or if he’s just shy or if i’m just a toy. I just don’t get why he would put in all this time and effort because the conversations are really genuine and i think we both enjoy them. he responds fast too, he sends me things and asks me actual questions about my day, myself etc. idk what i’m missing here!! there’s more details i can elaborate on if needed but i think this is the gist of it. how should i be interpreting this??
