I’ve (20m) been seeing this guy (25m) for about two months and I’m so tired of trying. To start off, we live in different cities (about two hours away) and in the beginning he always initiated our conversations and dates. When social distancing rules were lifted last month when bars and clubs started opening, he came to the city (where I live) every week and made plans with me maybe like one time out of the past month. He’d always go out with friends or go on dates with other people (which I know because he told me).

About two weeks ago he stopped texting me every day (which I would not have minded if I hadn’t gotten used to the daily greetings) and his replies became super dry. I confronted him about this and he apologized and said he’ll try harder. Then he goes MIA for three days. So at this point I’m tired of trying and investing my emotions. I just stopped initiating conversations, and sent short replies.

Now he keeps texting me asking if everything’s okay (which it’s not) and that he misses me but I just feel like it’s all blank statement. I feel like if he did miss me he should have come visit me or something. Should I give this another shot or would I just be barking up the wrong tree.
