Basically I get plenty of matches, but it practically never gets past conversation. I strongly feel like there is pressure on me (especially as a man) to start being flirty and/or funny but I don’t even know the other person in the slightest. Being flirty with or investing emotional energy into some rando on the internet feels incredibly forced and is just exhausting. I just want to get to know someone first, in a rather dry manner (“what are your interests?”/personality and relationship related questions), and sure that might be somewhat boring but I really don’t get the alternative. Aren’t people looking for some kind of fundamental compatibility? Why waste energy forcing a convo, setting up dates and then later discovering in most cases that there is an incompatibility? (And how can people invest so much time and energy into someone online who they do not know and couldn’t possibly give a fuck about? Or do most people just give short one word replies or something?)

Okay I’m done venting (feel free to do the same dear reader), my question is: What is the best site for people looking for something more serious/less time-wasty, or is there (in quarantine-times…) a better alternative?
