I [F27] have been talking to this guy [M29] since March. Since then we’ve gotten very close and intimate though have never met in person because of quarantine. He has a demanding job and last week was “mad busy” as he’s told me a number of times. Normally, I wouldn’t be suspicious, but he hasn’t talked to me since Friday and we had never gone even a day without talking to each other since we first started talking.

We had plans to FaceTime Friday but he bailed and gave me no reason why, just “I can’t do FaceTime.” So I left it there. Then late in the evening, I made a joke and said he’s either gotten “suddenly ugly” or he’s lost interest, to which he replied, “Shingles.” And then told me that he’s watching a documentary I recommended and that he’s been “mad busy and just needs time to [himself] to decompress.” Since then, radio silence despite him watching my stories.

I don’t doubt that he’s been crazy busy and needs to hermit (he’s told me he does that when he’s going through something), but this just so uncharacteristic of us to go this long without talking. I guess I also just don’t understand how you can go days without talking to your romantic interest because you need to decompress. Like he’s not afraid of losing me. Thoughts?
