A friend and I recently got into a conversation about the habit of leaving straight after sex with a one-night stand or casual hook-up. My friend is from Canada and I’m from Finland, and I was surprised at how common it seems to be in Canada/North America to leave straight after sex. Having had my fair share of hook-ups back home, as well as travelling around Europe, this is not AT ALL my experience. But hearing how my friend talked about his and his friends experiences, as well as seeing this play out in a number of Hollywood movies, I’m left wondering is it my experience that’s different or is this just more common in NA? What are your experiences, how normal is it for people to slink out after having sex and what are your thoughts about it?

PS. This is not to say that I think either staying or leaving after sex is better, I just got curious whether there actually is a difference in the ”sex etiquette” or if my experience is a skewed sample.
