Recently was with someone for a short time.. Only a few months. Originally we would talk all day everyday, and pur conversations were simultaneously really romantic, and sexual. As rime went on there was more and more distance, but we still communicated everyday. Then the conversations became less romantic and sexual… Then the amount of time between conversations slowed incredibly. After a while it began to worry me. We talked about it and she assured me she was still into me and everything was fine. Also our phone conversations were still fun and we would make time for one another.. But the distance was still there and it still bothered me. Eventually I told her it was really bothering me and causing me alot of stress. So we both agreed to a mutual breakup. I wanted more attention and affection and she said she just could not provide that.
Now some time has passed and I am beating myself up for it. I feel I was being too needy and clingy.. Maybe I was expecting to much? And the way our relationship was progressing was normal? I should also mention we didnt get to spend much time together because of covid lockdown. So our only way to try and keep the flame lit was through phone conversations.. Did I over react? Is the course that things were taking normal? Or did I make a reasonable decision?
I would also like to add that this short lived relationship also highlighted for me that I do have insecurities with myself I wasnt aware of that played into my decision. Which I’m conflicted with. Because I dont know if it is normal to feel like that kind of distance is reasonable or if my feelings were justified.
