Some background, So theres a girl at my work, we basically have set partners as a workplace. You spend atleast 8 hours on the road with your partner and your partner never changes. Since I got off my training this girl has basically stopped being partners with her real partner and has quite literally bribed our bosses so we can work together continuously.

Here’s the catch, she has a boyfriend. We constantly text basically at all times of the day at or not at work. I havent made any forward advances towards her but she recently started to go into “never feeling more alone than the current relationship” shes in, and as far as saying she “doesnt know how to break up with people etc.” But then reigns it in later on saying its “not all bad” in the same night. Which I’m unsure if that’s just her not wanting to sound like she complains a lot about people she dates so it doesnt scare me or that its she doesn’t want to give me the wrong idea.

Me for my part I take a passive approach to this as I do not want it to seem like I am trying to convince her. Truly though I could see myself with this woman permanently.

Now the question, is there a good way to test the waters to see if shes probing me to see if I am interested in her, or find out if shes actually interested in me, or just looking for attention shes not getting from her S/O? I’m just kinda nervous being in this awkward purgatory with her and being partners not knowing if I should say something about how I feel. What I don’t want is to say something and her be like “how could you possibly get that idea I was interested in you” and then having the weirdest work environment ever following that.

Dating in this workplace is totally expected and accepted, there are 7 work locations and one of us would just transfer to a nearby location doing the same job so dont worry about that.
