So I’ve been single for a year now and I would like to find someone but I don’t know where to start. I just realized that I always have a crush on someone, but these are not “real” crushes. I usually pick a guy I know and looks great and I start to build up a personality for them. In my head these guys are perfect and when I actually get to know them I realize they are totally different as I imagined. I feel like I don’t let myself to actually like someone for themselves, I just have this highly idealized image about the perfect guy and I am waiting for someone who fits this personality and when they don’t I just move on to the next guy.
What should I do? How can I be more open?
Edit: so a lot of you guys said that I should go out on dates and stop fantasizing my problem is: i am dating but I immediately lose interest as soon as i realize that the person is different from what i expected/wanted
I feel like my expectations are too high, but I dont really want to lower them since my ex was indeed the “perfect” guy
and I am sure I am not asexual/aromantic I think there is another issue
