It feels like such a roundabout, it takes me weeks and weeks to get one person who I can have a meaningful conversation with and show off my personality after a crap shoot of swiping and sending messages. Then you go on a date with them, have fun, have a laugh and get on pretty well spend hours just chatting only to get told that they didn’t feel a spark after one date. Okay fine, that’s cool not everyone has to be for everyone I understand that. But then they just drop you like a sack of potatoes, we’ve just spent weeks having great conversation had a great conversation on a date then just cya, people are that disposable it’s crazy. Then it’s just repeat the same cycle over and over again more or less more swiping more messages having the same conversations over and over again.
I’m not resentful at men or women, but I am starting to get pretty spiteful on these apps, and this is completely contrary to how all my friends see me and how I am in real life and it’s pretty depressing. It takes me weeks to even get a match right now on these apps, mostly hinge and bumble at the moment, and I dont think i’m unattractive at all girls I have successfully dated have told me as such, but similar people now won’t even give me the time of day to respond to my messages. I feel like I need to talk to more people in person because this is probably where i’ll see much more success but how are you meant to do that when the only places you go are gym, work, bars and home. The bars are always so rammed here you can’t get a word in and honestly i’ve never approached people in these situations. I’m a pretty good conversationalist once I get going, like on dates i’m always pretty good at it, but what on earth do you say to someone sat at the bar with their friends. Makes me feel like such a teenager but I’ve honestly never successfully done it, when it has happened i’ve always just been shitfaced and no words were ever spoken but that’s not how you meet quality people. How can I fix this rut and find a way to better put myself out there more effectively than I do right now and get out of my comfort zone?
