I wasn’t sure what to make the title of this post. Here’s what I mean specifically… I think that it’s a common tendency sometimes to see a picture of someone on tinder or social media and start to piece together what they may be like. How would it be to be in a relationship with them? What kind of jobs would you both have, where would you live, what kind of house would you have, or maybe an apartment? How would the kids look? Imagine those lazy Sunday mornings together laying in bed.

Suddenly you’re back in the present moment. Your mind took you on an elaborate stretch that has little to no bearing in reality. You’ve never even met this stranger on Tinder or Facebook or whatever website, and already you’re fantasising and with it projecting all of your thoughts, dreams, and desires. Then you approach talking to them from inside of this boxed (and disillusioned) framework and it’s a recipe for disaster because it’s packaged with expectations.

I’ve noticed that I’ve done this before and it’s never worked out well. I think that it’s normal to think about what it’d be like to build a life with someone that you’re interested in, but it’s important to draw a line in the mind and not let these sorts of thoughts run amok in the mind.
