So some family friends have been trying to set me up with their niece for the last several months, but I’ve always managed to avoid it (the pandemic sort of helped with that too). They mostly bring this up to my parents who then relay it to me. I’ve told them countless times that I’m not interested, but they’ve been insistent that I at least go out with her once because they’ve been building me up for so long.
My main reasons for not wanting to go out with her are: 1. She’s apparently very religious and conservative, which I am not, and I don’t think that’s going to change anytime soon. 2. I don’t want to mix my parents and their friends’ friendship with my love life. I feel like this can only end badly, especially with the expectations already established. 3. They’ve shown me some photos of her, and as shallow as it is, I’m just not attracted to her physically.
Anyway, apparently they’ve given her my contact info and “expect” that she’ll be in touch me with me soon. How would you go about navigating this situation when/if she contacts me?
