So I’m still very close friends with my ex boyfriend. Before we were even dating, I got him a couple tiny gifts for Christmas – a painting of his favorite animal, sour skittles, a couple packs of gum, and I put a sticker on his lanyard which he kept for several months. I got him gifts for Valentine’s day – two custom shirts, cheese (it’s his favorite food), skittles, and a painting of his favorite anime character. On MY birthday I bought him a stuffed shark. Today is his birthday, I can’t see him but I’m gonna be making him a couple paintings and other gifts and giving them as soon as I see him.

My point is: Boys like gifts. He has the paintings in his room either on his nightstand or the wall. He sleeps with the stuffed shark every night. He wears the shirts all the time.

Even if it isn’t something huge, they will most likely love and cherish it so don’t be afraid to spend a couple dollars on something simple. You don’t really even have to be dating.
