Being broken up with because of my academics sucks and makes me reconsider if I even have the right to want to date

My academics and extracurriculars are extremely important to me but as a result it leaves me with little to no free time to spend with my ex. As a result, she broke up with me (again) because of her “not wanting to get in my way”. Was this an excuse or is this a legit reason because it seems petty to me
