We've been dating for a month. We enjoy each other immensely, especially how well we fit together even though we're so different. Our differences kindv amuse us and make conversation and life more interesting.
Last night we were talking about values. He (41M) values money more than time. He thinks there are bigger, more important things than love. He thinks working 12 hour days M-Sa is the way to live. (He's currently working less than normal bc of covid.) "Money makes the world go round" is what he said.
Naturally I (36F) think the opposite. Time is more valuable than money. Nothing is more important than love. I think work should not significantly reduce your ability to spend time with yourself and your loved ones. I'm also anti capitalism.
I can't stop thinking this difference in fundamental values makes us ultimately incompatible and the future might be more heartbreaking for me than a heartbreak now (a break up). OR since I value my solitude and will have access to it while he spends his life away from me, working, we might be perfect for each other.
How do I think about this in a healthy, productive way? Normally I would have shut this thing down already but I genuinely really like him and would like a future with him.
