Whenever I see someone I'm interested and try to start a conversation it never works. Talking to people I don't know well is literally the hardest thing in the world to me. I've heard all the advice in the books by now, I try to ask questions to get them to talk about themself and I only get dry responses and one word answers. And sure that probably means they aren't interested but if that's the case then nobody in the world is interested in me because that is all I get from anyone. I've been single for five years because of this and I'm starting to think I'm just gonna be single forever because I don't know how to talk to people. What can I do as a socially awkward person to have a functional conversation and actually get someone to like me because right now it feels completely impossible…
