Recently I met a guy at work. I’m in management in my department and he’s entry level in his. He has an 11 year old daughter. I don’t have kids. I live on my own in the city and he lives with his “homeboy” across town. And to make things worse, I’m 23 and he’s 34.
But since I met him, I’ve fell head over heels! He didn’t even go after me.. After crushing on him for a few weeks, I made it known I was into him so he would approach me and he did – later saying he was shocked I was interested. He has the sweetest cutest playful personality without being immature and I’m a really serious person so it’s nice that he’s able to bring out my less serious side. And I find him so attractive. The only thing that irks me is that he tries to impress me and it just comes off looking stupid. He makes comments about taking me on expensive trips and mentioned he was house hunting. But I seriously doubt either of those ideas are probable for him at the moment…. I’m definitely more mature than him but he makes me really happy and he’s more than willing to go out of his way to do cute little things for me – wash my car, bring me lunch, etc. And he’s made it known he wants this to really go somewhere… But he just comes off as the “cruising through life” sort while I’m very focused. I know what work experience he has and I feel like I could help him get to a good spot career-wise, but I’m not sure if he’s the receptive type or if he wants to be this way… And I’m definitely not the type to carry a man so he would need to be willing. Do relationships like this ever work out? Or am I wasting my time? Any tips?
