I've (21F) gained 10-15 pounds over quarantine on purpose for health reasons. I went from a BMI ~21 to BMI 23. I have a couple questions about dating post weight gain.
- I hear people complain about women who show up on dates looking nothing like their pictures from dating apps. Would I need to take new pictures for my profile? I truly don't think I look that different. I'm obviously not as skinny but I'm not overweight looking at all. I used to be objectively thin and now I think I just look normal, not big but not very thin either. I don't have bikini pictures or any pictures focused solely on my body on my profile but I do have a couple full body photos.
- Would most straight men care about a weight gain like this? I guess to give more concrete numbers, I'm 5'8 and went from being 140 to ~152lbs. At 140 I felt really beautiful and attractive and now I think I look okay and am working on rebuilding my confidence (as I said I had to gain weight for health reasons). I'm wondering if this weight gain would change my dating life in any meaningful way. Or do men not care that much as long as a woman is normal weight and relatively attractive? Of course I understand each man's preference is individual, but I'm wondering what the general viewpoint is.
Thanks for any insight.
