Anyone who's curious can read through my r/dating posts, but this year's been rough romantically for me.
I usually don't do horrid with matching on dating apps. I've had a few go to an actual date this year at least.
I went on a date with someone this past Friday, and it was a typical bad-online-date for me: the girl was cool, we got along, but I wasn't attracted to her and we didn't have much in common.
This may be more of a venting post, but I'm getting exhausted with it. Kinda just feel like whenever I click with someone, it doesn't go anywhere, and the rest either fall into the same category as the last date, or never get to an in-person date.
I've been working on myself a lot the past couple years, and I feel really good about myself, just lonely from a romantic sense. I never was the type of person to hit on people in the wild, but that's an impossibility for obvious reasons.
I'm not really sure what I can do at this point. I feel as though if I just stop altogether that I'll just get perpetually frustrated and uncaring about it in general. And I don't wanna be that guy that someone goes on a date with and is just negative Nancy the whole time. Nor do I want to become the guy that just seems bored, uninterested, or uncaring, which I could see happening given a long enough time of just… Nothing happening.
So I'm kinda not sure about how to move forward. It's not like I'm crying myself to sleep at night I'm so lonely, but I'd like to get to know someone and date them eventually. This is just debilitating and I'm getting worn down and sick of it.
