I've had my fair share of less-than-great relationships.
I'm turning 22(f) this year and already feel like I've lived through 20 years of bad luck in the relationship department. Within the past year and a half, I broke up with a long term boyfriend, been lied to and used by seemingly trustworthy guys that I *thought* were interested in me, and just kind of been ghosted.
Recently, I downloaded Tinder out of boredom during this quarantine and ended up matching with someone who's very much my type physically and seems to have similar beliefs as I do as well as swapping travel stories and what lead us to living where we live now. He's (24) a super laid back, freelance artist that lives with more than a handful of other guys and are part of a skating collective of some sort.
One of the biggest struggles I face, is overthinking. We haven't texted too much, but when we have, the texts are decently long and involve questions and what not. He always makes sure to tell me to enjoy my day.
I was supposed to go up to where he lives two hours away) because my roommates and I had been planning a trip for a while now. He asked me to hang and reminded me to text him when I got there so we could meet up. That fell through due to a travel restriction and I ended up proposing a virtual first date which he gladly accepted and even texted me twice the day of, letting me know he was still down and wanted to talk.
We spoke for about 45 minutes and it went great, we both consumed a lil bit of THC and had a very laid back conversation. He texted me telling me it was nice to talk and he wanted to learn French. I offered to teach him over FaceTime (my attempt at flirting) to which he replied he would let me know "for sure :)"
I sent him a funny pic earlier that made me think of him and no answer.
I would be willing to drive a couple hours once in a while to see him if it was going somewhere, but his lease is up in September and he may or may not move to the West Coast, the other side of the country. Basically I don't know if I should invest time in this, try harder to talk to him more, or not do anything and see what he says/does.
Should I ask him what he's looking for before I invest too much energy??
Offer any advice you can, I'm the absolute worst at navigating relationships.
