Did I give her enough rope to respond?

Class moved online due to covid and I wanted to continue talking to this girl. At this point I’ve only talked to her about 3 times and briefly. So I message her using the GroupMe app, which is where the group chat for the class is at. Just so I can get the ball rolling, I asked her if she listened to the band that we were talking about in class, because it was probably a more memorable moment.

She recalled the moment in detail but she told me she did not end up listening to them (bear in mind I never asked her to listen to them, in fact I told her not to listen to it them because they would probably turn her off). She did use words like “omg” and “haha” in the message. Idk if it means much; I feel like all girls use those.

I then recommended her some songs, but then she only liked the message; she did not reply anymore. I took this to mean that she was not interested in talking to me so I left her alone.

My friend told me however that I did not give her a lot to work with to create a response. He says that she probably did not know what to say or there was nothing else to say. I disagree, she probably could’ve said anything at all if she was interested. I feel like it’s a clear indicator that she’s not.

She was smiling at almost everything I said in class and she was the one who always initiated conversation with me. Although, she is a very kind and sociable person. So Idk I’m just really confused now.

What do you guys think? Is she interested or not? I need fresh perspectives. If you do think she’s interested, is it creepy to message her now? Classes ended a month ago and I sent that message 6 weeks ago.
