A few weeks ago I started noticing a guy at work, he does the same job as me but in a different department. I followed him on IG and he sent me a DM about a picture of a ton of people on my families boat and asked where his invite was. We sent a couple of messages about the lake and that was that. I had heard about a get together his department has every weekend, so I asked when our department was invited. He ended up coming and talking to me at work and invited me and my friends. We went, but didn’t stay long. That night he sent me his number and we started texting all the time.
I saw him and work here and there, but he was texting me constantly. He asked me out to dinner this past Friday. We went and had a good time, we ended up meeting up with my sister and her boyfriend (my sister also works with me, so he’s met her before.)
That night I invited him out on our boat the next day. It’s always my family that goes, it’s my dads boat. (I hang out with my family a lot, everyone that knows me knows them). I told him usually a ton of people go out, but it would just be my family out this weekend and he was more than okay with that. He made himself right at home, helped my dad with stuff on the boat, bought my mom dinner at the marina, hung out with my sisters boyfriend a lot. When we got back to my house and he came in and stayed for a while, we made out, but that was it. He texted me and soon as he got home. He texted me first thing the next morning and was being super flirty. He always responds to my texts almost immediately no matter how long I take to respond, I leave my phone laying around a lot.
Sunday we had a Father’s Day cookout at my house, it was raining and he texted asked if we were still cooking out and what I was doing that night. I told him we were, and I wasn’t doing anything after, he was welcome to come over. Then he didn’t respond for a loooong time. Which is fine, I’m that way too, but he’s usually right on top of it. He said let him know when I was done with family stuff, so when I was done I let him know. He said he was taking a shower and then heading my way, then he texted me and said he was exhausted and was staying home and he’d “make it up to me.” I told him no problem, have a good night, and that’s the last I heard.
Im just a little bothered because this is the first guy I’ve had any interest in in a very long time. He seemed like he felt the same way. I’m regretting inviting him over last night, because that is a lot in one weekend. But I felt like he was hinting at doing something, and I knew we’d both be super busy at work this week so I wouldn’t have another chance. Maybe that was too much? I’m not sure if I should text again or just wait and see if he ever says anything.
