So I(m17) have divorced parents that live 2 states away and it’s about an 8 hour drive to get to each other. I usually live with my mother but for breaks in school I go to my father. This makes dating difficult because for 1/4 of every month I’m 8 hours away and especially summer break where I’m away for 2 whole months. The only real free time I have to spend with a partner is ruin by being away. I’ve only had a couple relationships and none of them lasted longer than 2 months because of this. It hurts so much knowing that my relationships are being ruined by something I can’t even control. I fear that in college when I don’t have to go to my father I will lack certain dating skills necessary to maintain a long term relationship. I’m not sure how I should feel or even what I should do.
