A close friend has recently asked me this question regarding his newish relationship. I genuinely do not know how to respond. To some degree, I think it’s possible. He says this chick has a lot of baggage, some emotional issues due to past experiences/relationships, unstable finances/career, no real direction in life, almost polar opposites. I have met her on occasion and she seems like a nice girl but the warning bells are going off in my head because of reasons listed above. I already know she is not going to gel with his family because they are conservative, well-to-do and she is not. He seems to think he can be the stable force in life for this girl. His heart is as good as gold. I worry she would destroy him. I don’t want to jeopardize my friendship with him by giving him my honest opinion but I also don’t want him to end up hurt when things don’t work out.
What would you do/say? Help a sister out!
