I was on dating site and I have talked to some women. I noticed that people specially on online dating apps tend to focus on making assumption about a person based on what their lifestyle looks like on social media such as instagram, tiktok, etc. For example, I was talking to this woman recently and we were in the beginning stages of getting to know each other. She always bragged about how she was constantly being approached by many guys and therefore, no matter how much effort I put she never really appreciated it. Keep in mind I was not saying typical things that many other guys would be posting on her insta, or other social media apps. It was more like something original I came up with on my own with personal messages whenever I talked. Moreover, other Women I have talked to also bragged about how they are on insta, tiktok, etc and have x amount of followers . I feel like with social media these days people on online dating apps have forgotten to appreciate someone for their genuineness. Its seems more like if someone has pictures showing he or she travels a lot, is rich, has thousands of followers etc. seem to be the ones that get attention on online dating apps. I'm the guy who is not so much into social media but if someone talked to me and then wanted to see more pictures of mines (aside from the pictures on dating apps) I would more than happy to provide. I feel like when a person is constantly being approached by many people, the person forgets to differentiate between who is being genuine and who is not. Its like you instantly get put onto the list with all other people. The other problem is if you try to approach someone online, and they see you don't have too many followers on social media or they see you are not as active on social media they think you are boring.I'm outgoing but its just that I don't like spending time on social media and posting everything that i do. Have you guys had such experience or ever felt like this?
