I kinda gave up on dating after a 4 year relationship ended in 2017. Then in late 2018 I started dating one of my best friends – which, to be honest, wasn't going to work out – but we got along well & I thought what the hell. But before we started dating, I really struggled to feel anything for anyone for longer than a month. So after said best friend & I broke up in mid 2019, I got that numb feeling back. Like, I find guys attractive, but not enough to bother giving my number or going on dates etc. I feel genuinely numb on the inside, to the point where I have completely given up on dating. I get the feeling I'm not going to get over it, and I'll probably end up not liking anyone again. The other contributing factor is drama – the thought of drama immediately puts me off. Had a lot of it in the 4 year relationship, and anything that remotely looks like it could turn out the same, makes me run for the hills.
Can anyone relate? Did you feel normal again at some point? Does the dead inside feeling disappear?
