Crossposted from another thread. Not sure if this is a good place to post this, just tell me if it isn't!
Throwaway for obvious reasons.
I'm split on this. If we weren't coworkers I would just ask, but obviously I can't. For context, we work retail.
Reasons I have for thinking he doesn't:
– All of our conversations are about him. He never asks questions about me, only volunteers information about himself. All of his conversations with our coworkers, as far as I can tell, are like this.
– He has my number but does not reach out to me. No memes, jokes, nothing.
Reasons I think he might:
– He is very touchy (handsy isn't the right word, because it is never sexual). There is lots of playful punching on the arm, etc. Once he gave me a massage by gently punching my upper back. When I am busy with a task, sometimes he will walk behind me and poke me in the arm or middle of my back. This happens quite a lot.
– He notices small things about me. On two separate occasions, he pointed out that I had something in my hair and a small hole in my shirt near the hem of my pants.
– He notices my moods and comments on them. He notices when customers make me upset – he says I get quiet when they do. Another time I came in bummed out for personal reasons (usually other coworkers can't tell/don't comment on it) and he noticed and asked me what was wrong. Once I referred to myself as low-hanging fruit in a self-deprecating joke and he immediately got serious and asked why I think of myself that way.
– He teases me a lot. Very playfully, I might add, and not once have I taken it to heart (if anything my teasing back is worse).
– He doesn't show any of these behaviours (as far as I know) to other coworkers.
I'm not sure, and I thought I would post here to see what other people (especially guys) think of this. I think what really gets my attention is touching – my love language is touch, so maybe that's why I am so confused?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
