You go on a couple dates with a girl and they go well. You have good conversation, share some laughs, but there's no chemistry. After two dates, you're not sure if you want to go on a third, so you never follow up with her. She doesn't contact you either (maybe she's not interested either or she's too shy to say anything).
Does this count as ghosting or is it more of a mutual apathy towards the situation? Are you obligated to follow up after only two dates? I feel like ghosting is when both sides are communicating regularly and one person suddenly stops talking. I feel like ghosting implies some sort of obligation to talk or be there for someone, but can it also apply to someone you've just gone on a couple dates with?
tl;dr is it considered ghosting if you've only gone on a couple dates and you don't follow up with them on whether or not there's going to be a third date? Or does it only apply to more serious, committed relationships where one person suddenly stops talking to the other?
