F(19) dating a guy M(22) with a year old child

Hey everyone, just looking for advice and experience. Is it a bad idea for me to be messing around with a guy with a child? I’m 19 just out of high school and he is obviously no longer with the baby momma but still part of his sons life, (he sees him often but the babymomma is the main caretaker).. I don’t see anything wrong with this as he is a good dad.. I haven’t met the son but might someday if we continue dating. I realize that his son will always come first and I’m okay with that
