Feeling disappointed after missing my chance with a girl I liked

I'm just been feeling so sad lately after losing the chance to even at least talk to the girl I liked.

Backstory:

During the quarantine, I realized online dating was up significantly so I (M, 21) decided to try it out. I tried multiple dating apps and gone through countless girls in my age range (18-25) near my area. But there was this one girl (F, 21) near my area. She wasn't too close, but not too far away either. Probably about an hour by bus and train.

Judging from what I saw on her profile, we seemed to have a lot in common and I fit a lot of what she was looking for in a guy. Appearance wise, she was pretty cute and beautiful. By that I mean in a more "elegant" way. She wasn't smoking hot or "sexy" where she'd be considered immediately "bangable" upon sight. There were several other girls who were hotter than her in that sense.

But I think for the first time, I don't care as much about getting in bed with a girl as I did just wanting to know her and be with her. Doing stuff and doing life together. She was that perfect one. She was a fun loving girl, but also determined to reach her goals and especially determined to grow into a stronger, better person and that's what attracted me to her the most.

On that specific dating app, the was the first girl I ever sent a like to. But I never got a like back. I know that all dating apps work differently and most these days require a mutual liking to get a match (both profiles liking each other) to initiate a conversation. This app was different since you could message anyone you liked, even without a like back. Some apps also don't let you see who liked you as they either don't have the option, or it requires payment to unlock that feature.

Being new to the dating scene, I was quite concerned when I didn't get a like back and I was debating for a month whether or not to message her. So I asked people's opinions on multiple subreddits. While I did get a few no's at first, overall, I had more people telling me "yes, give it a shot" from both men and women.

But the last part of the story that ended in heartbreak for me was the fact that I'm really shy and pretty introverted. Social interactions scare me and I kinda suck at holding a conversation. I try my best, but always fail or end feeling judged for whatever I try to say. I know communication in any relationship is paramount and most women place high importance on that. Maybe I thought since I didn't get a like back, she wasn't interested. So about a week ago, I finally try to muster up the courage to attempt to shoot her a message.

But on that day when I tried, I realized her profile was gone and nowhere to be found. I realized that she may be gone forever and I'd never get another chance with her. I felt she was perfect for me. I know it's my fault for not at least trying and for being so weak. It just hurts so much and I've been crying about it ever since. I still just find it hard to forget about her and she's on my mind every day. I don't think I'd find anyone else that's as good as her. 🙁
