2 years ago, he (26M) mentored me (24F) on a project. We ended up getting very close and by the end of the year he’d invite me over to his house for dinner and he’d come over for family dinners at my house too. However, I moved away downtown for school and he stayed in the suburbs. We’d still bump into each other over the weekends when I was back to see my family but I wasn’t seeing him on a daily basis like I did when we were both in the same school. Anyway, it was then that I realised I had feelings for him and I told him. He replied and said he saw me as a good friend. I was fine with this because I got some closure and I could move on, but this strained our friendship and we hardly spoke for a year and he also acted Super weird when he saw me with my now ex… anyway, fast forward to now, a year and a half later and with covid and all, he texted to ask how everything was. We start talking then we end up Skyping and he ends up inviting me for dinner with his family on multiple occasions. So my question is, is he just being friendly or is there something more to this.
TL;dr: close friend friendzoned me 2 years ago and we drift apart. Fast forward to now, we end up talking again and he ends up inviting me over for dinner with his family… is there something more to this or is he just being friendly?
