This guy (28) and I (21) had been talking for about a month before corona started. He was such a gentleman- like the kind that opens the car door for you. He said he really liked me and we agreed to always be upfront and honest through the whole thing, as I know most guys have a hard time doing that during the dating process. So weeks go by, he keeps saying he can’t wait to see me when corona is all over. He’s a cop so didn’t want to risk getting me or anyone else sick. Anyways, I bring him a birthday gift with some food and a handmade card. Then he distances himself, and I fall back. I barely hear from him. I then confront him over text about it, asking if I crossed a line or something. He said he was overwhelmed and work was stressful so he just needed to be left alone sometimes. Haven’t heard from him since besides one snapchat that I didn’t reply to two weeks ago. This is a sweet, mature, grown ass man. Did my “girlfriend vibes” scare him off? I guess I usually go all in for people I care about, but I had mentioned to him before that I didn’t want my actions to pressure him/ that I didn’t expect anything of him. I didn’t have high expectations, as we were still in the dating phase. Everything I did was light hearted and reassuring to him. Am I fooling myself? Is it not being able to see him for an indefinite period of time the issue here? Do I deserve someone who’s going to put in more of an effort to show they care?
