Getting ditched, making the most out of it, and knowing your worth

Context: I [27M] been out of the dating game for a long while because of many reasons but mostly because I’m painfully insecure when it comes to approaching girls. Decided that 2020 was gonna be different but the pandemic thing kinda messed up things as for everyone else. So I had to rely on OLD again for a bit. I’ve had a few connections (average looking but don’t stand out to much I guess) and have been talking to a couple girls every other week.

The story: I was finally able to set up a date (her suggestion) which was cool although I wasn’t too sure about this person but mostly wanted to get comfortable in dating scenarios again. We agreed on time a few hours before, I planned my work so I could drive about 45min and meet this person only to find… a text asking if we could postpone it. I was super pissed off because she didn’t apologize or anything. HOWEVER I decided to try making the most off of my trip and ended up going to a couple spots in that town I wanted to hit before and ended up having quite an enjoyable time. I’m not a super positive person but I’ll be dammed if some shitty person is gonna make me question my worth because they decided not showing up to something. Getting ditched(/mistreated) with no justification says more about that person than about yourself. Keep your heads up high friends!!
