Going to ask a classmate whom I have never talked to out on a date

I'm not sure what kind of topic would I start off with, we have a class together this week and it's a final test, should I start the conversation with that? or maybe something else?

What about timing, should I wait for her to leave the classroom? we're having the test in a small classroom and it's always filled up
