Got blown off last minute with no text letting me know. Did I overreact?

I've been talking to a guy I met online sporadically for a couple months but we started talking a lot more in the past 3 weeks or so. We seemed to be hitting it off and we talked more and more. We couldn't meet up because of the coronavirus, but in the past few weeks things have been opening up again so I suggested meeting. Our schedules didn't match up until this past weekend, or so I thought.

We initially agreed on Saturday, then he changed to Friday on Friday morning. I was free so I was fine with it. He gave me a time and place. Just before I was about to head out, he texts me saying he lost power at home and is waiting it out at his parents place, but would be leaving soon, so I told him to let me know when he left.

Hours go by and I get nothing from him. Things happen so I brush it off. But the next day wake up to no texts from him, I see that he posted a bunch of pics from the night before and Saturday of what looked like a party on Instagram. I guess I thought maybe he decided to stay with his family and they did something fun together. I was confused why he wouldn't at least hit me up and let me know.

I decided to check in on Saturday and see what was up, but he left me on read and I didn't hear back from him again.

Sunday morning I was really upset. I texted him letting him know that I would have appreciated a heads up if you couldn't meet up and that I don't want to be involved with someone who doesn't value me or my time. He replied and initially was sorry, but then got really upset that I was upset and said that I was being unfair. At this point I was really hurt and got even more upset. I was defending myself and blew up a bit, saying that decent people would check in.

I was so upset and hurt. We really had hit it off and I really liked him. But since he didn't seem to care about my feelings, I started the process of cutting him out by deleting him off all social media.

Did I overreact? Should I have given him another chance? He reached out saying he was upset that I deleted him and I told him I overreacted, but still have the right to be upset. I have not heard back yet.

My gut is saying that he's a jerk and I just need to fully cut him out and move on. But there is also part of me saying that I should have played it cool and given him a chance to hit me up and explain himself.
